It all began in 2019 when a couple of Porsche geeks wanted to update our 911 with EFI. We looked at the ITB systems that were on the market and thought that we could make something a little better. Something that was less restrictive than your normal throttle butterfly, but more drivable than flat slides. This led us to consider roller barrels, but they are often quite large and bulky. But if we changed the throttle opening to be elliptical, we could cut down the size and still get the wanted airflow.


After a lot of CAD design, simulation and testing we came up with this design, that gives a smooth transition through the throttle body, from the opening of the stack to the intake valve. At part open throttle the air passes directly by the fuel injector which gives good fuel atomization resulting in quick throttle response. At fully open throttle there is a free passage of fuel and air directly into the cylinder head.


JSR-engineering was started by Jannik and René, we have a background in mechanical engineering and manufacturing. We both have a large interest in all things mechanical, and Porsche cars especially. We have a couple of cars that are in a constant state of development, but there is always one that is ready for a spirited drive.

Q. Can I use othe fuel injectors than EV6?

A. The ITBs are made for the EV6 tyoe injector, other designs can be made by special order.
